MTII 10MG Research Overview
MT-II (Melanotan II) is a synthetic cyclic analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) with broad, non-selective agonist activity across melanocortin receptors. MTII 10MG is supplied for qualified in-vitro laboratory research and analytical use only.
Compound profile
- Compound class: Cyclic α-MSH analog (melanocortin receptor agonist)
- Molecular weight: ≈ 1024.2 g/mol
- CAS number: 121062-08-6
- Receptors: MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R
- Form: Lyophilized powder in a sealed vial
- Testing: Third-party HPLC purity and identity, batch-matched COA
Research context
Because it activates MC1R in melanocytes as well as central MC3R/MC4R, MT-II is used in research on melanogenesis and pigmentation, appetite and energy-balance signaling, and neuroendocrine pathways. It is frequently compared with PT-141, which was developed from it.
Storage and handling
Store unopened lyophilized vials sealed and protected from light — at −20 °C for long-term storage, or 2–8 °C for short-term use. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated at 2–8 °C, minimize freeze–thaw cycles and rely on your laboratory’s own validated stability data.
Quality and documentation
Every lot is third-party tested, and the Certificate of Analysis is matched to the exact batch you receive — look it up any time on the COA page. Browse more Melanocortin Research, or see related compounds: PT-141 10MG, KPV 10MG.
